The William Johnston Trophy

The William M. Johnston Trophy is annually awarded by The United States Tennis Association (USTA) to that male player who by character, sportsmanship, manners, spirit of cooperation, and contribution to the growth of the game ranks first in the opinion of the selection committee.

In the past years, Mats Wilander (1985), Ken Rosewall (1986), Rod Laver (1989), Neale Fraser (1991), Roy S. Emerson (1995), Tony Trabert (2002) and others won the trophy.
